Two grapplers join Middleweight Grand Prix at last minute

Polaris 27

The Middleweight grand prix at Polaris 22 has been struck by a change of lineup at the last minute, with both Izaak Michell and Nick Ronan being forced to withdraw from the event.

Replacing them is two equally impressive veterans of the sport in Alan Sanchez and Mateusz Szczecinski. Sanchez is the current EBI Welterweight champion, and he owns several impressive victories over top competitors like Oliver Taza and Jacob Couch. Sanchez made two attempts at qualifying for ADCC 2022 and on both occasions he managed to make it all the way to the quarterfinals, losing out to PJ Barch and Andy Varela, two men who would go on to compete at ADCC 2022 themselves.

As for Szczecinski, he did actually manage to qualify for ADCC 2022 and he went on to shock fans around the world by taking out William Tackett in the opening round of the tournament. Szczecinski is also a Polaris veteran and he already owns a victory on the mats in the UK, travelling all the way from Poland to submit Ellis Younger with a heelhook at Polaris 17. Both of these men will be giving it their all to walk away with the Polaris Middleweight title and the grand prize of $20,000.
