In a highly anticipated match for the Polaris under 55kg womens belt, Ffion Davies takes on Gezary Matuda. The Polaris Dream Team: Craig Jones, Dan Strauss, Gregor Gracie, Marcin Held and now Vitor Shaolin will be in Las Vegas for Quintet 3. We will be facing Team Alpha Male, Team Sakuraba, and Team 10th Planet, the winners of Quintet 2. We have Team 10th Planet in the first round. Cage Warriors 100 PLUS the final of the Cage Warriors Academy Grand Prix final will go down on one night – December 8th in Cardiff’s Ice Arena – with Polaris 8 closing the weekend in the same venue on Sunday 9th. Cage Warriors, Europe’s leading MMA promotion and Polaris, hosts of ‘the world’s most exciting pro Jiu Jitsu event’, have teamed up in a ground-breaking partnership to offer fight fans one incredible weekend to end 2018. The Cage Warriors Academy (CWA) Grand Prix final will open up the action on Saturday, and will feature the finalists who have battled their way to the top spot throughout 2018. Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan created the tournament to scope out the top amateur talent on the continent, and is now just months away from crowning 2018 Grand Prix champions in seven weight divisions. We at Polaris were honoured to be invited to field a team at the first ever Quintet, and event conceptualised by MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba. The event took a team vs team format, and Polaris dominated on their way to victory. The team was made up of Craig Jones, Caol Uno, Gregor Gracie, Marcin Held and Dan Strauss. Polaris 6 happened on Saturday 17th Centre in front of a near sold-out Indigo at the O2 in London. It was a night of first class grappling action, showing why Polaris Pro is the leading professional jiu jitsu format in the world. Broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass (with the prelims streaming for free on Facebook), the show saw the crowning of a new Middleweight World Champion in Craig Jones. At Polaris 6, the two finalists in our Ladies Under 55kg category were also set, meaning Ffion Davies will meet Gezary Matuda having both submitted their opponents. And in a wild superfight, Benson Henderson staked his claim as one of the most dynamic grapplers on the planet in an exciting back and forth with AJ Agazarm.
